The team behind the 80ft Trimaran LoveWater were already champions in our minds when they joined hands with the WWF to raise awareness of plastic pollution in our oceans. But they also smashed the trans-Atlantic record in the Cape to Rio Race by some 3 days. Behind their record attempt is their love for the ocean along with their goal to raise awareness surrounding the devastation that plastic has had on our environment.

The Cape to Rio Yacht Race 2020 started with the first class of boats leaving Table Bay on Sat, 4th Jan. The cruisers have been at sea for a week now and are making slow, but steady progress. But it’s the group of boats in the second start which will offer thrilling speeds and record breaking attempts as they battle it out across the Atlantic Ocean.

The 11th edition of the Caribbean 600 kicked off in spectacular conditions off the south coast of Antigua on 18 February 2019. 76 yachts were on the start line, representing 20 countries to sail the 600 miles in this non-stop offshore race. In the Multihull division, Maserati, Giovanni Soldini’s Multi 70 took Multihull Line Honours in a time of 1 day, 6 hours and 49 minutes, smashing the record by 1 hour 10 minutes and 4 seconds.
