The SailGP Chicago event took place in light airs, providing intense racing for fans. However, local helmsman Jimmy Spithill and his team just couldn’t get into their groove to give their home crowd a win.
Tom Slingsby and his SailGP Australia team made a major comeback to take their 5th event consecutive win. Five fiercely fought fleet races saw Australia scrape into the final by just a single point, before they stormed to victory in the three team winner-takes-all final, leaving Canada and Great Britain trailing in their wake.
